Everything is interconnected

I was recently interviewed by John Bache for his Podcast The Unmaking about the dramatic changes people make in their lives. In my case John had me looking back at my life and disparate passions as a graphic designer, rock climber and environmental artist over more than 60 years.

Casting back to my designer days in swinging 60s London, adventures overland to Mt Everest and rock climbing in the early days in North Wales, I feel I have been immensely lucky to have experienced times and places that have been changed out of recognition today.

We also talked about how I found a way to redesign my life to make a living as an artist incorporating adventures in wild natural places and creating sculptures and photographs that speak of an alternative model of progress. All in collaboration with the woman I love, Philippa.

What interests me now is not the disparate nature of my passions over time but their consistent interconnectedness.
