Environmental sculpture and photograph by Martin Hill
The native New Zealand silver fern fronds are silvery underneath. Here they are fastened together with flax fibre to encircle a mossy log that has fallen across the stream and become host to many kinds of vegetation. The location is a remote part of the bush at Whanganui Bay, Lake Taupo, New Zealand.
