Environmental sculpture and photograph by Martin Hill
Fallen leaves were cleared from the river bank to form a half circle. They were then floated on the water in an eddyof the fast flowing Clutha River to complete the circle. The floating leaves were held in place by sticks pushed into the riverbed. The positive and negative parts of the circle refer to the cycling of nutrients as organic matter brakes down and becomes a resource for the growth of new life forms.
